Banfi has been producing and importing vintage wine since 1919. It is particularly well-known for selling wine from the Tuscany and Piedmont areas of Italy. With its Rosa Regale Sparkling Rosé Brachetto d’Acqui, the company released a remarkable wine for the summer of 2022. First and foremost, this release brings the first rose to Banfi’s Rosa Regale line, which previously consisted exclusively of sparkling reds and whites. But Banfi didn’t settle for just any ordinary rose release. In the words of Banfi CEO Cristina Mariani-May, a Brachetto rose of this quality “is nearly unheard of” in the industry. Banfi describes the Rosa Regale Sparkling Rose as ideal for both pairing with a meal or sipping with dessert. A relatively sweet wine balanced with a pleasant acidity, it has notes of melon, grapefruit, and orange blossom.

Andrew Sommerhalder is a Toronto-based executive with financial management responsibilities at Arrowsmith Program. An avid traveler, Andrew Sommerhalder has traveled to destinations across the Caribbean, including Jamaica’s Montego Bay.
Known for premier beaches and all-inclusive resorts, Montego Bay is also a scenic, historical region that offers rewarding day trips such as Dunns River Falls and bamboo rafting through rainforest and old plantations on Martha Brae River. One of the most intriguing destinations in the region is Green Grotto Caves, a cave system that runs 1.5 kilometers in length. This system encompasses Runaway Cave, which has a name reflecting the utility the numerous underground passageways provided in giving refuge to Spanish and enslaved people in the 17th century, as Britain took over the island. In the mid-20th century, the caves took on a new purpose, as they were utilized by smugglers shipping arms to support Cuban revolutionaries. In the 1970s, Green Grotto received yet another boost, this time in the tourism direction, with filming the submarine scene in Live and Let Die, a James Bond vehicle starring Roger Moore. Accessible via 65 steps, the underground lake, and the entire cave system are home to a significant population of bats, who are believed to number in the millions. |
